Explore Vieux Nice and visit Cours Saleya
Vieux Nice (Old Nice) is a really cool part of town that makes you feel like you’re in a movie. It has lots of winding cobblestone streets, beautifully colored buildings and there’s a lot of really cute cafes/bakeries etc. In Old Nice you can find Cours Saleya, a top attraction in Nice. Cours Saleya is an outdoor market that sells flowers, fruits, vegetables and lots of yummy treats. The flower market, the most popular tourist attraction at the market, is open everyday except for Monday from 6 am until 5:30 pm, and on Sunday from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm. The food is open every day from 6 am to 1:30 pm except Monday. I highly recommend going! The flowers are beautiful and the food is really good! They had a crepe booth and quiches and all kinds of fruit and french food. Get some food and then take it to the beach for a picnic! The beach is sooo close to the beach. I would recommend this over eating at one of the restaurants next to Cours Saleya because they seemed pretty overpriced to me.
Shop on Avenue Jean Medecin
If you love to shop like me then you will love Avenue Jean Medecin, aka The Avenue. This is in the city center and starts (or ends depending where you are walking from) at Place Masséna. It has all kinds of the usual popular stores you can find throughout Europe like Zara and H&M but it also has some fun French stores like Galeries Lafayette, a large department store chain, and it has a mall, the Nice Étoile. Take a stroll here before/after getting some pictures of Place Masséna!
Walk along Promenade des Anglais and tan on the beach
Promenade des Anglais is a top attraction in Nice, it extends 7 km and gives you easy access to the beach, making it perfect for walking, biking or skating and taking some relaxing tanning breaks. The beaches are rocky not sandy, but I still thought it was perfectly comfortable with a towel! You can also stop when you find a good place to sit and just take in the view of the beach! It will also take you to Hotel Negresco, a fancy hotel and beautiful building! See my photos below :)
Day trips to the rest of the French Riviera!!
If you have the time, explore cities outside of Nice! You could go to Monaco, Cannes, or Eze to name a few options! Monaco and Cannes good options if you would rather lay on a sandy beach. There are buses and trains that take you to any of these other cities if you don't have a car. All of these places are within about an hour of Nice. I didn't have time to make any day trips since I was only in Nice for a weekend so let me know how your experiences are!
