I think one of my favorite things about Santorini was how many beautiful places you see just by wandering! This is definitely a place to relax, slow down and soak in the beauty of your surroundings.

Wander around Fira

Fira is the capital of Santorini and offers lots of cute shops, restaurants, bars and of course, beautiful views! If you're lucky you may also see some cute donkeys! You could literally just wander around here without a plan and find plenty of photo worthy spots! From Fira you can also get an amazing panoramic view of the Santorini caldera! Check the photos. A must see while you are here. In case you don't know what a caldera is, it's a gigantic volcanic crater created by a volcanic eruption. That's how we got Santorini, Therasia, Aspronisi and the other smaller islands, Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, which you can see easily in the pretty caldera views! This leads me to my next thing to do!

Go see the sunset from Oia

Oia is the other tourist city destination in Santorini. It offers absolutely gorgeous views of the caldera and is known for the breathtaking view of the sunset. When I went everyone was sitting outside their windows, standing on the balconies, crowded in the streets watching the sunset and when the sun went down everyone applauded like it was the end of a show. It was such an amazing moment! Definitely one of my favorite travel moments. Oia also has plenty of cute shops and restaurants like Fira so take some time to wander here as well! We took a bus from Fira to Oia and that in itself is an experience! There weren't enough seats for everyone but they put you on anyways, you just stand and the bus drives so close to the edge of the cliff and you can feel yourself sway on every turn, it was like riding a roller coaster! It was kind of terrifying at night but we all survived so I guess do it?

View of Perissa Beach

Rest on Perissa Beach

Perissa is a beautiful black sand beach with lots of free lawn chairs and umbrellas so you will have an amazing lounging experience. It is one of the longest beaches in Santorini, has beautiful water, and is known for how clean it is! There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants by the beach for you to grab something to eat or drink!

Rest some more on Kamari beach

This is another one of Santorini's most popular beaches. Like Perissa it is one of the longest beaches in Santorini and has beautiful water and is also a black sand beach. Kamari is known to be more crowded (Perissa was not crowded at all when we went in May) and you have to pay for the lounge chairs and umbrellas. However it does have a lot of amenities like showers, and a diving center where you can try different water sports.
