In case you didn't already know I am vegetarian so my eating options and experiences are a bit more restricted but I can still tell you which places my friends (who weren't all vegetarian) and I all really enjoyed! If you like cooking on your own there are some small grocery stores and markets available but definitely not a substantial amount. It's not like you will just walk around and see a Safeway. So without living here it's kind of hard to know where to go to get what. My group was able to get enough stuff to make breakfast every morning with eggs and veggies and fruit but I think it would be difficult to cook for every meal.
Carolinda Beach Club
I mentioned this in another post for the water swings and beach, but you should also get some food here and a lot of drinks! Their strawberry mojito and sex on the beach was amazing as was the smoothie I got and the guacamole (my go to vegetarian food in Mexico) was really good too! See my pretty photos above 🍹 My friends got ceviche which they liked and margaritas which enjoyed a lot as well. They had a happy hour deal which you should definitely stop by for! The girls who served us were also super friendly.
Crustaceo Kascarudo
This was actually a restaurant that was advertised on our Airbnb that we decided to go to and it was awesome! I got veggie fajitas and they were really good! We also got guac and I had a pineapple sangria which was pretty decent as well. My friends agreed that this was our favorite meal out here. In addition, the customer service was good and there was a musician playing part of the time.
Ierra Mia Juice and Coffee
So I was majorly overheating and not going to survive wandering around looking for food for lunch so I made my friend stop with me here to get a smoothie and omg it was the best thing ever! We brought the rest of our group here the next day to get smoothies again because it was just so yummy and refreshing in the heat. If you're really thirsty and dying get a large. I finished mine easily not going to lie.
Viva Zapata
Come here for some cocktails! I got a watermelon mojito here and it was so good! I finished it so fast. My friends loved their drinks as well. It also has cool swings at the bar to sit on. Very good vibes.
Empanadas next to Viva Zapata
Right across from this bar is a very tiny hole in the wall place where you can get empanadas. The empanadas here are basically like fried quesadillas and they put some lettuce and crema on top but it is very satisfying.
El Encuentro
This wasn't my friends favorite place but I enjoyed it because they had pretty good veggie fajitas and I liked the vibe of the restaurant. It's upstairs and they have some cards for you to play games with and the customer service was good. I also really liked their guacamole, they put mango in it!
