Drinking in BarcelonašŸ¹

So similarly to Madrid, Barcelona is a great place to drink and go out and have a good time until the sun rises. But because of that, a reminder to be careful!

I am not going to lie I completely blacked out in Barcelona the second time I was there on my 22nd birthday and I have no idea how I made it back to my hotel, it was a miracle. I do think I had a great time but I wouldn't exactly recommend getting that wasted to everyone. So that being said, here are some places I went and were recommended to me by the tour guide I had the first time I was in Barcelona.

El Bosc de Les Fades

This is a bar/cafe themed as a fairy tale like magical forest. Its off of La Rambla and right next to the Wax Museum and I highly recommend going! It is beautiful inside, you feel like you really are in a magical place! Also the drinks are well priced and you can even get pitchers of sangria! I unfortunately don't have any good photos of this place because it's very dark inside and I didn't have a great camera on my phone but trust me it's awesome! Look it up!

Sugar and Sub Rosa

These are two bars right next to each other on Carrer d'en Rauric. They are both really fun, recommended to me by my tour guide and have really great happy hour deals. Some cocktails are just 2.80 euros until 10 pm! Definitely recommend going here for some cheap drinks!

The Mint

This is another top recommendation from my tour guide and can be found on Passeig d'Isabel II. The Mint is well known for their mojitos. They are only 4 euros! Can't say no to that!

Els Quatre Gats

This is a famous cafe known for all the famous artists that used to meet there. Pablo Picasso was a regular at this cafe. It also has food but I just got a drink here. The interior is very charming. I would recommend going here if you want to relax with a drink and are an art fan! Check the photos below.

Opium

The first time I went out in Barcelona I was not that drunk at all so I actually remember where I went (hooray!). I was meeting some friends from school here and if I remember correctly we got in by getting on a guest list. If you read my blog post on clubbing in Madrid then you also saw me list Opium for Madrid too. Opium Barcelona's vibe is very similar to the Madrid one, with dancers and nicely dressed people, but I went dressed pretty casually here and I got in fine (I think being a girl helps?). I liked this club cause its basically on the beach and there's a nice area to sit and chill if you don't want to be dancing.

El Raval

So on my 22nd birthday I went out drinking here in this neighborhood in the Gothic District. I went to several bars that I don't remember what they were called and then somehow managed to talk my way into getting into a club with a couple of my guy friends for free without being on a guest list. Don't know how that happened but the club was fun, I remember a lot of Spanish music playing and dancing. So unfortunately due to my inebriated state I can't give you all the details but I can tell you there was plenty of places to go around this area! I found out after I went out there that it has a reputation as a red light district and is home to many of Barcelona's fun bars and music venues. If I go back to Barcelona I would def go here again and actually take note of the details because I definitely had a lot of fun here. Enjoy this video loop of me doing a shot, it's the only indication of where I was that night. Thanks Snapchat you a real one.

Some other places my tour guide recommended for drinking but I didn't have a chance to go to are Nevermind Bar, Beirut, Kiko and Carabela Cafe. For clubbing, I have had friends recommend Moog, La Terrrazza and Shoko in addition to Opium. If you go you should let me know how it is! Also check out my Barcelona food post for some other food and drinks recommendations!
