Las Ramblas
So this is an obvious place that all tourists need to come explore! It's probably one of the most popular destinations in Barcelona. It's a 1.2 km long promenade that goes from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell which are both places you should see so take a walk along the entire thing and see both along the way! Las Ramblas is filled with plenty of places to shop, eat, and drink and party. At night it definitely can be a little sketchy turning into a bit of a red light district in certain areas but there are also still plenty of areas that are perfectly find to go to at night. See first photo below :)
Port Vell/La Rambla del Mar
You can find Port Vell at the end of Las Ramblas by the Columbus monument. You can follow the wooden walkway La Rambla del Mar down to the aquarium and mall. Along the walk there are tons of people selling clothes, purses, jewelry, souvenirs and other fun things. I bought two pairs of earrings here and I still wear them all the time today! I came at night and it was so pretty to see the walkway all lit up (see photos) but I'm sure it's just as beautiful during the day!
Passeig de Gràcia
If you like to shop then this is the street to go to! Only beware it is known as one of the most expensive streets in Spain so if you aren't filthy rich and are on a budget like me then you probably won't be able to buy a lot here but there are some affordable stores and it's also just fun to look at things you can't afford because they are pretty so why not take a look around. In addition to shopping you can find a lot of artists works, most notably Gaudi, from the buildings to the benches to the street lights (like in the photo!).
Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC)
Honestly you could just come here to see the Palau Nacional which is what the museum is inside of because it's insaneeeee and if you want a good photo op this would be a great place for it. Now if you also so happen to be an art nerd then you should definitely go inside the museum as well! It is one of the biggest museums in Spain and has an expansive collection of Catalan art.
Museu Picasso
I think this is an amazingggg museum! I had been taking an art history class when I came here and had just studied Picasso so I thought seeing this collection was really interesting. My favorite part was all of his sketches where you can just see what he was thinking when he was just doodling and trying ideas out. They also have a lot of pieces from his Blue Period which I loved because you can see how his paintings changed in this time period and you can feel his depression and emotion. I would highly recommend making a stop here!
Bunkers del Carmel
If you are a sucker for views this is a spot to go to! If offers a 360º city view and you can see some of Barcelona's most iconic spots like the Sagrada Familia and of course, it's free! You should always be down for a good free view. I came during the day but my friend came at sunset and it looked AMAZING (see photos courtesy of Rilke, thanks girl you the best). So when I go back to Barcelona I will be coming here at sunset.
